EPT Prague update
The European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague is taking place in the Hilton Prague Hotel and the total prize pool is €2,842,100. Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and has a population of 1.2 million. The city if famous for its architecture which dates back over sic hundred years, and its nightlife, of which there is plenty.

The Main Event of the EPT Prague is a €5,000 no-limit Texas Hold’em game with a top prize of €682,000. Second place collects €454,000 and third collects €255,000. There are cash prizes for the top eighty players with a minimum prize of €8,000.

Day 1A started with 205 players and ended with 116 players remaining. The chip leader was Mark Gork with 169,200 chips, though Rui Cao in second place was only 100 chips behind and only 60,000 chips separated the top ten places.

Day 1B started with 365 players, and by the end of the day these were whittled down to 211. Marius Heiene from Norway ended in the lead with 162,700 chips and Jude Ainsworth from Ireland was in second place with 160,300. 40,000 chips separated the top ten places.

Some big names have already been eliminated. These include Huck Seed, Shaun Deeb (who only last week claimed to have retired from tournament poker), Johnny Lodden, the tennis star Boris Becker, Carter Philips, the American winner of the EPT Barcelona for which he collected €850,000, and Benjamin Spindler of Germany, the winner of the EPT PokerStars Caribbean Poker Adventure in January this year for which he collected $1,100,000.
